What type of research is being done about autism?

Research is conducted all over the world into various aspects of autism. Historically, most of the research was into the causes of autism, its prevalence, strategies and interventions, and autism’s relation to co-occurring conditions.

In the last ten years, research has expanded to include enquires into how individuals experience autism, the relationship of autism to society, including education and employment, what types of accommodations work best for autistic individuals, and how autistics and non-autistics interact.

Current information about research that specifically applies to autistic adults can be found at Autism CRC
