Why is Asperger’s Syndrome not diagnosed anymore?

Asperger’s Disorder was folded into the expanded Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) when the DSM-5 went into effect in 2013. Those that were diagnosed with Asperger’s Disorder prior to the change keep their diagnosis, but since 2013 those that would previously have been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome are now diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
